I thought I would make an introduction. I’m Ashley! My hubby and I have just traded our ML320 Benzo in on a 2003 325xi sport wagon. This is essentially MY car since I am the one toting our 9 month old hellion (aka Owen) around. Ok, so my proverbial BMW cherry has been popped. I can't believe how freaking great this car is, where has it been? I had been hemming and hawing about how boring and uninteresting our ML was plus I hate auto, so we went to start looking at what we could get. Sticking with German was a must. I had already owned a Jetta and did not want to go down that crappy road again. We went and looked at Audi (I know, glorified VW), I test drove the A4 quatro wagon and had a good time in it. I really liked it except it was so loud, I felt like my ass was scraping the pavement it was so loud. Then to top it off our salesman was sleazy and too pushy. We started perusing http://www.parkplaceltd.com/ my husband found the wagon on there, but I wouldn’t consider it because it had steptronic. My hubby works at Discount Tire and got a hook up with Ryan at Park Place. So I call him and he immediately tells me about this wagon my husband had seen, I told him I wasn’t interested in it because it wasn’t a stick. He told me to just drive it because this thing was cherry, I agreed. I drove it and never looked back. This thing felt so good, I felt so connected to it I might as well have been driving a stick. It is fully loaded too, nav, H/K stereo, Orient Blue, sport package, winter package (what else can you use the ski bag for?), low miles….I could go on and on and on…obviously I am already. Anyhoo, not only do I LOVE this car, the experience of buying it was second to NONE…seriously Park Place in Bellevue, WA is THE only place I will go from now on.

Well a little about me and mine, we just moved to the Seattle area from Flagstaff, AZ 3 weeks ago. My husband (Pete) transferred with Discount Tire (you can imagine the first upgrade that has already been done and it hasn’t even been a week, Yokes AVS sports) and for the moment I am a stay at home mom until I get my business off the ground which is GIS (mapmaking). We are 30 somethings and love our cars. Pete is a Porsche head…or all things aircooled if you will. Right now we have a 1976 VW Transporter, the BMW, and a 1974 Porsche 914. We sold a 1968 VW Fastback and a 1971 911E right before we moved here. We are total suckers to the oil industry (sad as it sounds) it’s like a bad addiction you can’t quit.

Okay I’ll wrap it up here, thanks if you made it this far. I am sure I will be posting a lot more as time moves along.

I'll get some pictures up..PROMISE!

Wadula: To say he was "excited" to sell it would be a lie. It was at the body shop and stilll needed so much more work. He was fixin on doing an engine rebuild....etc etc. Basically he had all this money tied up into it and couldn't even enjoy it. I am a MUCH bigger fan of the 914 and to some degree he is too...it is way more fun, not being ass heavy and all. So now we need to just get a paint job for it. If it's not one thing it's another.

Welcome to the board Ashley. That was a great write-up and introduction. Welcome to Washington State too. Park Place LTD is a great place and they only sell high-end autos that are in great shape so I know you bought a very nice car. I love Porsches as well. Hehe, what guys doesn't [:D] .

One question is the 914 one with the rare 6 cylinder or is it the 4 cylinder? The 6 is hard to come by and are pretty quick too. I had a buddy that use to own one and it was such a fun car. Look forward to the photos and stay in touch. This is a great community of BMW enthusiasts that have a wealth of knowledge.....
