Took the twin turbo E30 for it's first decent drive yesterday.
All I can say is WOW!!

The new engine is so smooth and has heaps of torque.

I gave it a bit if stick out onto the freeway and it got to 100mph quicker that the old 2.3l would get it to 60.

Still need to do the exhaust (3" single muffler) as it still has the 2 1/4" from the old engine and you can feel/hear the restriction over 4500rpm.

I also need to find a LSD as the open diff is a joke.
I also need a new bumper (reiger GTS maybe) has the intercooler and piping is a bit "out there".

Here are some pics from it's first day out.

Yeah, I'll put it on the dyno soon.
Just have to get the exhaust done and remount the airfilter.
Hoping for 225RWKW (300rwhp) on 12psi.
Should be more than enough for the E30. [driving] [burnout]

very nice. I would have to throw a front bumper on it and possibly get the intercooler epxoy coated. It gives it a sleeper look, while both protecting the cooler fins and not affecting the cooling ability that much.

Something tells me the valance that covers that big thing is going to be big to pass for any type of sleeper. Too bad you couldnt mount the intercooler someplace else and duct air to it like on the Subaru.

E30- nice work! I took the Bimmubishi out the other day for the first time with no front bumper too! That's great. I had a 3 inch diameter dump tube off the turbo because the exhaust isn't done yet. I pulled up next to a kid in a WRX and absolutely smoked him. I think he was a little bit confused. I'm finishing all the clean up work this week and shoud be able to post some finished pics next week.

Again, well done.

Alex
