Went to one of the local BMW dealership today. I wanted to see Imola Red! Anyway the salesperson told me that she's never heard of the "Sliptronic" thing ever. I'm wondering if it pertains only to the 330 vs 325. Reading the reviews on this board make me wonder if the problem has been fixed or she knows and isn't going to let me know. She did say there had an issue with a window thing. Kind of scary dealing with dealerships. I told her that I priced out a vehicle on the BMW website. The price was higher at the dealership. She told me whatever the price is on BMW's website is what they offer. Anyway she e-mailed me with a surprisingly lower price. Go figure! Everyone tells me to buy from a private party. Save thousands! I WILL be getting my car in the fall! Finally

Any thoughts?

Before you buy your "Beemer", realize that a Beemer is a BMW motorcycle and a Bimmer (pronounced with a short i sound) is a BMW automobile.

Good luck.

The sliptronic thing affected both 325 and 330 models. The recent builds has supposedly fixed the problem. If she (the sales person) still does not know of the problem she can check the Service bulletins from BMW or the NHTSA site. It is my understanding that the transmissions affected are the GM5 models and not the ZF5 HP19 ones. The transmissions have been replaced on a customer complaint basis not a general recall.

Bimmer........, Bimmer.........., Bimmer........., Bimmer......OK I'm just practicing. Talked a friend and he just bought a 325. Black / Tan, AT, Premium. Nice! He said I'll never go back once I get one.
