Hey guys... I have a question. I have a 2000 323 Ci convertible and in the FRONT of the wheels it has what looks like small mud flaps. What are those for and why are they in the front of the wheels? I've seen them on many BMW's and have been wondering about them [scratch]

My understanding is they are for aerodynamics. I think they may add some stability at higher speeds when wind resistance becomes a factor in handling. My Toyota Corolla has them too!

Those are also designed for keeping the water/mud from splashing onward/forward and onto the head lights/fog lights when hitting pot holes. Without them your frontBumper/FogLights/Headlights get dirty much faster on rainy days.

Both of my 5 series have them also for the rear wheels.
