I read that to change it you only need about 1.1 qt - now I suspect this is bull as in most vehicles tranny carries about 4-5 qts of fluid BUT a do-it-yourself change only allows for changing less fluid as most of it resides in an inaccessible part of the tranny and won't drain without pressure.
Could someone elaborate if this is the case in 328i auto E46 as well? Ever since I got a new job I drive much more than previously and my 328 has about 70k and fluid hasn't been changed since. Please advise whether I can do it myself PROPERLY or should I go to the dealer and get ripped off but do a full tranny flush.
Thanks
