I just got my 2004 325 ci about a week ago, and I'm loving it ( Have 3000km on it already.. ) !!! [driving] I finally understands why BMWs are called " THE ULTIMATE DRIVING
MACHINE "! [thumb]

The only thing that I don't like about my bimmer is the sound system. I only have the regular
stock system and I'm thinking about replacing that with aftermarket one. I'm thinking about
getting a amp, pair of speakers for front and back since I'm not a big sub fan and also I want
to keep the stock head unit.
What are the good speakers for the bimmer? I heard a/d/s are pretty good but is there any
better ones? I won't be using subs, so it will be nice if they can produce decent bass..

Thanks in advance~!

Hey, welcome to the forum. Your best bet is to really go to a Circuit City or Best Buy and listen to all the different car stereo speakers they have and choose which ones you like the best. But personally, here is what car speaker companies I would look into first:
-MB Quart
-Infinity
-Rockford Fosgate
-JBL
-Pioneer
And by "looking into", I mean I would go to a store and hear them for myself before I made the actual decision. [:)]

Hi

You have a new 2004 BMW where you cant't change the deck. You would have to make modifications and it looks terrible. But I wouldn't even recommend that. BMW Harman Kardon stereo is incredible. Why you dont like it? You probably need only a good subwoofer.

If you realy want the best sound system or speakers than there is nothing on this world like ECLIPSE. Cd/Tunner receiver CD 8053 is more than $2000

there isn't anything Better:http://www.eclipse-web.com/ [thumb]

Thanks for all ur help.
I went to local speaker store and check Focal speakers..
Just like u said, it was INCREDIBLE.. I guess I'll go with that.[:)]
Is there any disadvantages about keeping the head unit? What will be the major
difference between keeping stock head unit, and a new pioneer deck?

get a middle of the line deck that has rca outputs for a good signal to go to your amp. My stock HK system was average and the deck puts out low power and you have to splice from speaker wire to rca plugs to go to the amp . so I highly recommend a decent head unit and spend your money on amps and speakers . Oh and yeah, don't forget your bass.

Hmmm...yes Focal makes good speakers, but they are a bit of a challenge from an installation standpoint. Make sure you listen the brand that's made where the car is (MB Quart is made in Germany). Great stuff made to drop into many stock locations in German vehicles. FYI, you won't see them at Best Buy or Circuit City, but will have to go a smaller specialist type retailer. Go to www.mbquart.com and click on "dealer locator".

Above all, go what your ears tell not the sales person. Good luck!
