Could anyone please tell me the month in which a BMW changes year? I have a 325Ci that was produced in July of 2001. The guy I bought it from said it was a 2001 but I thought JUNE would be 2001 and JULY would be 2002??? Thank you all very much!!!!! [idea]

As far as I know the new models roll out in April.

When I ordered my car, it was the last car allocated to the dealer for the year, and that was the end of March.

[thumb] I have to concur with you Coldduk I bought my bimmer in Europe in July 1999 and it's a 2000. I originally was going to order one custom but the dealership had several bimmers already on the lot with various packages that were all 2000's. Which would lead me to believe that your ride is inded a 2002 not a 2001. Just my two and a half cents worth. Happy Motoring...

I think that it is not necessarily a fixed month. When I got my 330, I ordered it in January of 2003, and the dealer said it would be a 2003. When I got the confirmation and build date, they said that the factory was changing over to the 2004 model at the beginning of march, and I would have a 2004, and I do.

I think the date may vary by model (coupe, sedan, etc.) and also factory.

Kirby, 2004 is when the body style changed over, right? That's a big change, to order one car and get another. Were you happy about that change?

(One of the reasons I ordered the last 2003 model from the dealer, is I preferred the body style.)

Yes, I was happy about it. The changes were subtle, but I got the new front grille (I really prefer the 2004 style over the 2003) and LED tail lights.
