a 2005 330cic with:
Metallic Paint
205 STEPTRONIC 5-Speed Automatic Transmission
522 Adaptive Xenon Headlights
ZSP Sport Package
639 BMW Assist
494 Heated Front Seats

The MSRP on the vehicle is $50,145 and the dealer offered me $1,500 off. This is my 4th BMW from the same dealership and in the past I've done at least $500 better. But, I've never boutght a convertible before. Is this a good deal? By the way the dealer is located just outside a major metropolitan city in the north east.

My understanding is that most of the dealers don't discount too much off of the MSRP for the convertibles. They seem to sell more quickly and are in high demand so there is less need to wheel and deal on them. I've been watching my local dealership's inventory for a while now and they seem to rotate through convertibles at a fairly fast pace. Of course, my wife and I each bought a convertible within 2 weeks of one another and that kept their inventory moving too. My wife bought her car after mine and we worked out about a $1,800 discount off of the MSRP on her car... no trade-in was involved... straight purchase.

Coupes and converts don't get teh great deals you see on the sedans. Check carsdirect.com for a decent price. You'll be able to beat that price, but it gives you a ballpark figure.

The spring/summer is always a bad time to go looking for discounted converts... If you really want the car I'd tell him $47,500 and it's sold.
