What the hell? Car ready already?

Hey guys,
I placed my order for my 2004 330Ci on Sept. 19th. I was told that it would be put into production around the first week of october and be ready in Dec. Well my dealer has been really cool and calling me constantly with updates on it. He just called me on Tuesday to tell me my car had been put into production. Well anyway obviously I can't wait for it, and just now I reluctantly logged onto the Owner's Circle area of bmwusa.com, knowing that it would be the same as every other day I looked at it, but I was bored and said what the hell. Anyways, I log in and it says my car is "Awaiting Transport." What the hell? Is the production phase generally that fast?

Normally, the production takes one week.

I see, so how long does the transport usually take?

A couple of weeks to arrive at the VPC.

In my case , after production then to awaiting transport took 3 days to get to the port for shipping.Status then changed to en route and took 25 days to reach CA. The ship my car is on arrives today in Port Hueneme. My dealer says it'll be about 10 days before the car gets to them. Since I'm also in the Bay area, I would think that your timeframe would be similar.
