So.... my shift knob now turns on the shaft and the leather is tearing...... i thought i could deal with it but it is constant annoyance. Anyone have any solution to a shift knob that is spherical and DOESN'T use set screws? I was thinkin about chopping off the two little nubs off the top of the shaft and threading it so i could just buy a stupid nylon ball and thread it on there. Input?

I had the same problem. I bought a shift knob (generic but it looks great), leather shift boot, and leather ebrake boot from ebay. Cost me like $45 after all shipping, which was a rip (the s/h that is). Worth it though.

Mine does not use set screws.

man... looks like it'd do. but i dont have the 130$$ for a shift knob... no matter how cool it might be, i cant justify the cost. Also, it might be a small qualm with the design but metal shift knobs get F'n HOT in the sun.

every trip i make the the junk yards and pull-a-parts, i collect shifters, switches, OBC's, screws, trim clips and other random stuff. ...dont know what im gonna do with it all.
id send you a shift knob, but i need to decide which one im gonna use this weekend.
take a trip to your local junker and see what you can find!

lemme think about it..... i was thinking that i might make one. I have access to a lathe and was thinking of turning myself one out of some nylon/plastic material and either threading my lever or just using some mild adhesive. I'd probably just make it as spherical as i can.

mjbst111.... you can hop on it if you want. Being that i will probably have excess material when i make one, anyone else want one?
