I was just wondering whether I should do my wheel alignment at the dealer shop or at the regular Strauss shop. Is there any difference in doing it, all I know that the price is much higher.

Thanks.

WOW 20 reads and only one reply - you guys really need to start to think about maintenance too not all pleasure :)

Getting to my question was that is there anything specific that would benefit from going to the dealership instead of going to just the regular car shop. And I mean there is a significant price difference where the dealer would take $150 for alignment, where regular shop would take only half of it...? In addition to that I have a sport suspension, so that sporty suspension shouldn't have to be taken into consideration, I need some novice experts to answer this. Otherwise why would I go to the dealer just for that and spend twice as much? Don't think that all dealers will or would do a better job on your car; I've seen where they were just too lazy to put that screw back on...

Thanks.

if you take it to the outside shop, you can have them rotate and balance your tires also . That 's what I'd do . dealer won't do anything special. But let me ask you this , Do you have ant other warranty items that the dealer could look at at the same time you get you're alignment done?

I agree, it doesn't matter where you go. Since its an easy fix, I personally would take outside to save money. Plus most alignment shops guaranty their work so you can take it back for any adjustments.

I have nothing special besides, the wheel alignment, hehe maybe they’ll provide a visual check of my suspension and break pads. I keep my car very well maintained. I live in NY, here are some many potholes that you won’t even imagine. However, if there is nothing special dealer would do, then you guys convinced me to take it locally. At least I’m going to put half of my money into my pocket.

The sport package sometimes made me think that I need to do my wheel alignment because it’s so stiff and when I used to drive on an irregular road it tends to go in that direction. Any slight movement with my hand and my puppy moves like a guillotine.
Now after 1.5 years I know that I need to do my alignment because it tends to go to the left on a fairly leveled road, and when my wheels are straight my drive wheel is 85 degrees shifted to the left.

Thanks, Marcin.
