Here's the situation..

I have a new 2004 330ci and a (good) friend of mine gave me his rims and winter tires off his E46.

I'm not sure of the year, but for sure it was an E46 after 2001, it may have had the performance pkg and was either a 328 or 330i.

Anyway, the winter tires on the rims are 205/50R 17

I believe they will work, any ideas besides just taking one off and trying it on?

Is the bolt pattern the same for all E 46? (should be, right?)

Pls advise.

Not so strange...
We assumed at the time of him giving me the tires that the E 46 had consistant bolt patterns etc. He didnt have the car anymore, (that's why he was giving away the rims) and he's not the kind of owner that knows if it was an E46 or 36. I know the approx date of the car and the model so I'm going with that.

Like I said, he was a good friend, but one that doesnt pay attention to the details that some of us do.

Even if they didn't fit.... I'd sell them for some $$ He just wanted them out of his garage!

Bully for me!

I think they'll fit just fine. BMW offers various rims for the 3-series BMW's depending on how they're equipped. I'm sure they are all interchangeable without the use of any spacers or center rings or anything like that.

I think they'll fit. Sounds like neither vehicles have the Sports package. My sedan has the sports package and when I bought some new rims, I was told certain wheels fit while others didn't due to the calipers.

Just a follow up-
(btw way thanks for the info)

My friend had a higher end E46 (328 or 330, not a 325)
So I think they will fit my 33ci. And they are not 16", they are 17's so I think I'm alright.

Thanks for the responses.

If it came on a E46 3, it will fit any other E46 3, the offset is the same across the board for 3 series until you get into //M wheels. The only concern you might have is if it's 15's - They may not clear your brakes on a 2004 330, but since they are 17's, you are quite fine with them.
