[thumb] Hey Clhatcher, my bimmer came with 16" wheels and I'm currently running 18" wheels. The key is to keep the overall circumference the exact same, meaning keeping the size of the tire, side wall and wheel overall the same size. Therefore I am running 40's or 225/40/18 to maintain the wheel and tire circumference thus keeping the speedometer and suspension in check. When I was running a 16" rim I was running 225/50/16. The key is the circumference, because it allows the wheels to turn together and keeps the transmission and differential working in syncronization with the other moving parts. Just my two and a half cents. Happy Motoring...

You can view wheels on your car at both Tire Rack and 1010Tires. At 1010Tires you can actually upload a picture of your car and superimpose their wheels on your car. Check out the Custom Car Wizard.

I don't work for either of these companies, but I have bought stuff from TireRack, have been very satisfied.

How do you folks running low profile tires deal with
road bumps, driveways, and potholes?

I had low profile tires once, and couldn't wait to get
rid of them.

That tire size calculator is very cool, but is probably just
an estimate.

If your wheel diameter is off from factory, your gear ratio
and speedometer will get thrown off.

Something to consider.

When changing the rim/tire sizes from factory, I'd only install
tire/rim combos that others have verified from experience.

The stock size on a ZHP is Front: 225-40-18 on 8 inch rims Rear: 255-35-18 on 8.5 inch rims. This size wheels etc was also a stand alone an option on 330s. These sizes will also fit your car but 18 inch rims and tires can be expensive especially if you want ultra high performance "summer" tires and need a winter changeout.
