Hi guys...

Well, my girlfriends are tired of hearing about my cars, so I now have to talk to you guys about it. I just bought my first BMW.... 2004 330ci, manual, titanium silver, black leather, sport package, moonroof and the upgraded 18" wheels.

It was kind of funny how the salesguy tried to sell me the 325ci out of the gate, even though I kept telling him that I wanted the extra horsepower. He said most women buy the slower version of the 3 series. He changed his mind once I was in the driver's seat. lol! Let's just say that I changed his mind about women drivers!! Now, there is nothing wrong at all with the 325ci but when you drive both of them, you notice the difference off of the line and the change in 2nd and 3rd gears, especially when downshifting into 3rd on the highway.

Anyway, thought I'd share since my girlfriend's don't have any passion for cars.

Thanks!
Felicia

Welcome to the board! Well you know it's true that most women couldn't give a rats ass about cars. What a welcome relief it is to know someone like you exists out there.

I drove a stick for many years and decided on an auto for this one so my wife and kids could drive the car (none of them can or is willing to learn to drive a stick). Turns out they hardly ever drive it so I shoulda got the 6-speed after all, damn it.

Yeah the 330 definitely has noticeable power over the 325. Nice choice.

Well, thanks for the welcome boys!

Yes, most women do not care about cars, nor do they take care of them. That drives me nuts!! I have girlfriends that have half of their house inside their car. Clothes, shoes, trash.

Then there are the friends that drive around when their car is making a funny noise or they have spots of oil on their garage floor?

True, I'm not the typical girl but common sense would dictate that fluids leaking from you car (other than condensation) is just not a good sign!! Hello??? Jeez!!

That's not too bad. I know someone who drove without brakes two times. She says it was a nightmare. If you experienced it ones, wouldn't you pay attention to the sound youre brakes make the next time you stop. I'm not talking about checking the pads for wear, just listen to the car, that's all. That's probably why BMW puts sensors for that kinda stuff and people.

[welcome] to the board Felicia.

A woman that drives stick.[thumb]

Felicia and Andrey I agree. I would love to have gauges all over the place then you can identify a small problem before it becomes a BIG problem, but since BMW has to cater to the masses we all have to live with “idiot lights.” Unfortunately common sense isn’t that common any longer.

Welcome to the board Felicia [wave]

Glad to see another chick that knows about cars. I do have to say it is hard to find girls that know about cars, all my friends are guys but I do have one friend that's a girl. She has an old car, though she knows nothing about it and is afraid to drive it, she does like to go to shows and stuff. The cool thing is we take my car to the Importer Shows and her car to the Hot Rod Shows. And I also have to add that I too gave my salesman an interesting ride [hihi]

[welcome]

Nice seeing another woman BMW enthusiast. Around here, most girls but the car just for the badge and could care less about its performance. Glad to see you have the right attitude. [thumb]
