Where is the CD player?

Where is the CD player on 3-series with the nav system? I can't see the slot in the pictures in the brochures. My dealer told me that there is an in-dash CD player with the nav system, but he didn't have one on the lot to show me.

Tom is 100% correct.

Additionally, to get to the CD slot to add/remove a CD, you press the eject button and the screen tilts (motorized) exposing the slot. If a CD is in the player, the CD ejects. If no CD is in the player, one of three things can happen: 1. Inserting a CD will cause the screen to return to its original position. 2. Doing nothing, the screen will go back to its original position after a timeout (10 secs?). 3. Pressing the eject button again will return the screen to its init position.

Also, if you obstruct the opening or closing of the screen it will close if the state is opening and open if the state is closing.

BMWROCKS- So the DVD for the NAV is located in the trunk? If so, is this a changer or single player? Does it play regular CD's?

Yeah I know, these are questions I should have asked before I ordered it[rolleyes] . Thanks for your help though.

MY car missed the boat that left yesterday. The next one is FEB 6th, hopefully it will be on that one.[confused]

Yes the DVD for the NAV is in the trunk. It is for the NAV DVD only (No CDs), single disc player. Does not play any other DVD (like a move). You never have to do anything with it once the DVD is in.

The CD player Tom was referring to is an optional 6-disc changer that mounts in the slot above the NAV DVD player in the trunk. You can get a BMW one or do what I did, which is an Alpine CHA-S634 that plays CD-RW and MP3s. The Alpine fits exactly in the slot. That is because Alpine makes one of the BMW CD changers and it is exactly the same size.
