I need to purchase a new ambient temperature sensor and the actual connector that hooks to the bare wires. My sensor is missing under the front left wheel well, leaving two bare wires exposed, which obviously doesn't allow my thermometer on my dash to work.

I've found the sensor on multiple web sites but can't find the connector anywhere. I need the connector to attach to the bare wires, from what I've been told.

Anyone know where I can buy these online?

Thanks much for reading.

I do not know that you can get the connector on-line except at a BMW dealer. Try your local dealer as I am sure it could not be too expensive.
BMW tried to charge me $250 dollars to replace my ambient temp sensor... I laughed in their face and asked how they could justify charging 250 dollars to install an easily accessable part that costs 30 bucks online.

They said the thermometer is the cheap part, but that the connector part wasn't. I still think they're full of shit, but that's what they told me.

I called my local dealer and they quoted me a whopping $2.15 for the connector part and the actual sensor is $30-40 online. Your dealer is really screwing you. The $250 probably consists of $200 in labor for about four minutes of actual work. Goddammed ridiculous.

I just replaced mine...

Here are the parts you'll need:

61138365340 connector

61130005199 wire

61130006665 wire

Parts should be under $5

Make sure the wires fit in the connector before you leave the dealership. They gave me the wrong size and the sealing grommet wouldn't seat into the connector.

Look closely at the connector and you'll see a "1" and "2" near the wire sockets.

Wire "1" to the Blue/Brown wire
Wire "2" to the Blue/Red wire
