I love the 00-01 7's, very sporty lookin' lux rides, indeed. Riding on 19's 20's in the rear with a drop, they are beautiful!
The new 7, is beginning to grow on me. The more I see the entire series of cars change to the 'bangle' look, the more I understand what he's trying to do. (And since most of the other car manufacturers are doing a variation of the 'bangle' butt, it's good to know at least BMW did it first..). Can't say I AGREE with it, but cars evolve, I'm glad bangle evolved the BMW first - since everyone else is copying the bangle butt now..
Drive what you like, a well maintained BMW can last years and years, your classy car will become a classic, and still be a sweeeeet BMW..
I think there are so many e46's out there now, there will be plenty on the road for many years to come. It's not like all of our cars are going to 'banglemorph' overnight and grow a big a$$ or something..
And the new E90 (3/4 series) is HOT.. The ride is AGRESSIVE looking.. I won't mind getting into one of those in a few years.
So lets see what Bangle's replacement has in mind. I suspect a more aggressive look (with the bangle butt intact, you watch..), but with an eye on making them more 'sporty' sedans. (The styles ebb and flow.. When the e46 came out, it wasn't immediately appreciated either, now a few years later, you'd have to take the style away from the owners at gunpoint!).
And they certainly still DRIVE like a BMW.. which is why I own one anyhow. What's more insulting, getting a kill and showing them a cool looking rear bumper, or killing them and showing them a hideous a$$)..
