Whining fuel pump

There is a whine coming from what I suspect is the fuel pump. Is it possible to repair of fuel pump or do I have to purchase a new one?

dunno about a rebuild, might not be worth it.

Dont sweat the whine tho. They can last for 6 miles or 60000 after they start whining. Hell, GM cars do it right off the facotry line.

hell mine whines too but its gone from a gentle whine to a noise that is not pleasant, im not too worried about it though.............
btw, arent there 2 fuel pumps?? what happens if one of them goes out??

There are 2 fuel pumps. One located under the side of the body on the drivers side near the rear wheel. The other is under the back seat hidden by an oval plate. It is better to just replce them rather then try to rebuild them. I have never heard of a place that does, or sell the stuff to rebuild them. When you replace the in tank one, make sure that you take out the float before you try to remove the pump. It is very easy to damage it when you are trying to extract the pump.
