I have a 2000 3 series and I'm going to buy a new set of rims this year and I am far from deciding what I should get so I was thinking what you guys think. If you have any ideas or pictures of your own car that you would like to showcase with rims and you could post the pictures so I can get an idea I'd appreciate it very much....

Hmm.. well I guess I'll start the parade of pictures. I 'just' got new wheels put on yesterday, you can see my old 18" M3 wheels in my sig. Both sets are 18x8, no rubbing even with the drop, I am running -1 camber on both ends though.

I will say one thing - unless you are spending the big $$$ and getting something like HRE.. Go LIGHT. Big fancy wheels can often be heavier than you'd like (take it from me).

These are TSW 'Sting' wheels, 5 spoke 18x8

These are Evo M3 wheels - 2 sets of fronts, the staggered rears do not fit on non-M3's due to offset.

Here's an even better idea. This store isn't local to you, but browse their gallery anyhow. They do some SERIOUS wheel installs here in Atlanta, their gallery shows it. Just browse the BMW section, there's like 12 pages of bimmers with hot wheels, and I believe if you hover over the pic it details the wheel type and size.

Check the gallery.. Yum!

I am in the same situation as petakos. I was looking at some mille miglia 18 inchers. They were on sale at tirerack for about 200 a piece. Anybody have any opinions on mille miglia and if 200 is a good price per rim. Btw...i'd prob pair it with a set of pirelli zero nero M+S.

Sec8, nice shoes....look at that wax!!!

What did you do with your old wheels?
Still got em - 3 of them need some work at wheel wright or wheel wizard (local wheel fixing places). 2 left ones have slight 'humps' in them from the wife killing a pothole, and both have some light curbrash from the same incident (Really not 'that' bad, but at high speeds I'd get a little 'wobble'). 1 other is 'really' eaten up from curbrash - I freakin' hate parallel parking, and this front right says/shows it all (not bent at least).. [:(] The last wheel is totally fine. They are for sale for $300 pickup only, or I'll eventually get em fixed and use as a 2nd set of wheels.

MrE - Thanks man, I agree it gives the car it's 'own' sense of being, instead of looking 'somewhat' like a 4dr M car. I still like the M wheels, but I think they belong on coupes or the M only. The sedan needs something a little more.. Peppy to make it look sportier. (Can't go wrong w/ 5 spokes!)

uncfsuno - Pirelli Pzero Nero M&S are what I'm running, I've been pretty happy with them, but I think my next tire is going to be the Proxie 4's. The PZero Nero's have good grip and are great in rain, but just don't have that 'bite' I'd like my tires to have. Proxie4's get rave reviews on grip, and have a pretty long treadlife compared along with Pzero Neros (less, but comparable). BTW I've put about 12k on these, and I will need tires in 5k miles (Due to me not rotating them often enough.). So even good long life tires like the PZero's can wear out quick if you don't rotate properly. (That's what I get for being lazy!)

I like the Visions. Which one are you running now Tom?

M Speed - it's the only reason I didn't go staggered, I just can't justify new tires twice a year to my wife! (yet) [;)]

Check out frolf's wheels too......I don't know what brand those are, but they look great.

Sec8...one of your M3 wheels wobbles at high speed? Can't it be balanced?

Nope nope, 2 of them have small 'humps' on the inside of the wheels from the wife hitting a pothole. Every time the wheel rotates, it comes to that 'hump', and wobbles(lifts, dunno the proper word here I guess). I didn't notice it at low speeds, only over 70mph or so, which was a good indicator that it wasn't 'too' bad of a bend in them. They certainly can be fixed, and not for all that much but I suspect they may idle in my garage for some time before I get to actually repairing them (unless someone wants em for $300, and wants to get em repaired). Prolly a $300-$400 fix job, including the repaint to get them to all match. Alltogether still hundreds less than what I paid for them new (and rightfully so of course).

I'll take some photos this weekend when I snap new shots of the car - and show ya what I mean.

Hey Tom, I will "run" the Visions for you until you deem it necessary to change. They would look so pretty with the Topaz Blue... [thumb] [;)]

Well, no use in them just sitting in your garage right? [hihi]

Muhahaha! I was gonna ask him the same thing (new wheels or not), but I started thinking about spacers for the rear, and fender rolls. [ohcrap]
