How many of the E46 drivers out there constantly smash their leg on that bloody little compartment that opens out just next to the driver's door?? If you don't know what I'm talking about, you probably haven't done it, but after four times, you think I would remember to close it before getting out of the car. I always put my wallet and phone in that compartment which is pretty nifty since it's out of sight, but when I go to get out of the car, I never close the thing and so smash into it. Anyone else done this...repeatedly?

I haven't the foggiest idea of what you're blathering on about... First, what side is your steering wheel on? You are from the land down under which probably means you've got a wrong side drive automobile. All jokes in the corner, being an American colonist I have never banged my leg on any compartments getting in or out of my vehicle. I've got no compartments that open to the left of my bimmer. Now I just feel like an idiot lol, well if there are any Aussies here... who am I kidding, there are like three. AAAAAnyway, it's responsible for bruising, grazing and a cut, then again, I continually knock into it.

If that thing is anything like the storage compartment on the passenger side of "normal cars" you should be able to lock it closed... Maybe you can try putting the seat down lower if your legs are that long.

I'd put the wallet into my pocket and the cell phone in the cupholder if I were you and lock it up.

Awww, us Yanks got screwed. We don't have that compartment. Wish we did since I think the car is a bit lacking in interior storage space.

that's not cricket!! aussies get some nice interior options, besides the little storage bin, getting the silver cube trim on a 320 seems a big deal! i feel less special w/ my cube trim now.. where's Chesty w/ his comments? i know he's got a e46 down under.
