I am thoroughly enjoying my new convertible. The weather in west-central Florida has been perfect and the top has been down more than up! [thumb]

I was wondering if anyone has a wind screen for their convertible and whether it's something that you've gotten the value from.

I got a quote from Circle in the $325 range but have been trolling E-bay for a better deal.

Anyone have any opinion?

It makes a big difference in the wind...............I have the BMW lettering wind deflector........so far the only one in Houston that I or my dealership has seen.........it is black with white BMW lettering that reflects off of the lights behind me.........mine was $495.00 with 25% discount for BMWCCA member........so around $400.00.......I did the E-bay thing and other avenues but could not find one for the 330 Series......it folds up in seconds and has a carrier that fits in your trunk.....I leave mine on full time, it lays down when not in use........I have pictures if I can find them and MrElussive posts them for me.........[thumb]

a little off topic but is the convertible the only model with an antenna like that and does it retract when the radio is off?

I've always liked the look of the wind screen, i like how it blocks the back seat.

There are no backseat passengers with the windscreen..........that is my "fugly" windscreen on my car...........[slap].........and it keeps my hair from getting messed up......if my hair is going to get messed up, I prefer it not to be from the wind........[rofl] [rofl]

Thank you MrElussive for posting my pic.............appreciated as always.....[thumb]

I have the Windscreen, and it works well. It does alot to keep the wind buffeting to a minimum. The air kinda streams over top from the windshield and over the screen, instead of looping around and blowing from the rear. My wife likes to use it all the time when she drives because it keeps long hair from flying and getting too mussed up.

I usually don't use it for around town driving. But when you are driving at 60 - 70 mph for 2 or 3 hours it makes a BIG difference. Less noise - you can carry on a conversation at 60 mph without yelling, hear the stereo better, and I've even used my cell phone.

It also makes the convertible usable in cooler weather since you are not getting blasted by a lot of cold air.

Note that the back seat IS NOT usable for passengers when it's in. It covers the rear seats completely, almost like a tonneau (sp?) cover. The make it with and without big BMW letters on it. I have the non-logo version.

Windscreen is awesome. I can put the top down on a 45 degree day. I have different settings based on temperature

Below 50 -- windows up/windscreen up/seat warmers on!
50-65 -- windows up/windscreen up
65-80 - windows down/windscreen up
over 80 -- windows down/windscreen down

Circle was definitely one of the cheapest. I got my car cover from them.

Just ordered my new 2004 330 convertible. (trading in my 95 325 convertible). I've never had a windscreen but would like to order one - just not through BMW - too expensive. Can someone give me a link for Circle that you've discussed here? or an 800 # to get a catalog?
Thanks!

With Circle being $325.00 and discount for BMWCCA members on BMW wind deflectors, there is not much difference in price and no shipping costs from your dealership. Mine was $400.00 with the BMW lettering, without the lettering, it should be around $325.00.

The wind screen let us have the top down many times when it would have been too cold without it, it's very much worth the money. You lose the back seat for passengers when you have it in, but it folds up quickly to go back into the trunk when you need the back seat. You can leave it in and flip it up when you need it, down when you want the wind.
