Hey all. For those of u who are having issues with ur window regulators, u may want to check out the DIY BMW site. There's a repair there that will only cost u 2 tie-wraps and an hour of ur time. i just did mine last night and it works perfectly.
However, although i did disconnect my battery, i had to reconnect it to move the window up/down during the repair to get at some bolts, hence, i now have an airbag fault, but will get that reset.
Give it a try and use the cash you'll save to buy beer. here's the link.

I brought mine to the dealer since it is still under warranty.
Although, it would be the last time since the warranty is expiring. This DIY would come in handy for next event which may not be too long from now. :(

Wish I had found that site last year! Three windows went over the past two years. I bought the regulators when the wife was rear-ended and had the body shop put them in.

BMW shouldn't make such key parts out of plastic.

Another example is the plastic sunroof shade clips, which
break all the time, and render a $1,200 sunroof unusable.
