So get this - today, all of a sudden... ALL the windows rattle like a baby toy! WTF?! Windows closed = rattles & squeaks that would drive any of you insane. Windows cracked a little = ahhhhh... wait, now I have wind noise!! I want them closed!! You see the vicious cycle. The biggest kicker is the MOONROOF squeaks as well!! I have NEVER expierianced anything like this!! I guess I'll be seeing the dealer sooner than later!

Anybody had this?! What could it be? Clips, actuators? Wierd!!! [screwy]

Just brought the car to the dealer this week because of that. Apparently the black window trim (that is chrome on the 330i) is slightly thinner than the 330i and makes that noise. Permanent replacement are the chrome moulding of the 330i(which by the way I don't like). Other solution, silicone on the rubbers around the doors including the ones touching the outside moulding. They did it to mine and no more skweek! [:0]

Hope it helps!

Not that many people cared the first time, but I'd figured I'd share the resolution anywho. The dealer endedup replacing the window seals on both front doors and the moonroof. Its quiet again! Ahhhhh... I'll never understand how THREE seals went at the same time, but hey, its fixed!

Did they replace them with the chrome 330i mouldings? That's what the dealer told me would permanently resolved the issue ( I hate the chrome mouldings [eek] ).

Well maybe they built your whole car with bad seal material which is how you ended up with all the material going bad at the same time?

Just as a side note: I read where BMW spends a lot of time testing the noise interaction of the car materials. They claim that is why our cars are so quiet, with very few squeaks and rattles. They test different materials that rub together a lot (like glass and window seals), then change out the materials to find the best match for quietness.

That would fall under the 'General' forums.. then I'd be worried.

Could be, but the timing is just spooky! I've never seen/heard anything like it!
