Windscreen wiper weirdness

Hi All

Hope someone can help my windscreen wipers pulse on the spot when you are not using them as if they are bouncing there is also a clicking coming from what I gather could be the relay/fuse box next to the steering wheel is this something to do with a faulty relay. The wipers work normally otherwise just bounce up and down when the switch is in the off position. Any ideas?

Relay would be the first thing I would check.

Hi All

Ok the problem stopped but was replaced with a bigger problem the main linkage bar that holds all the motors etc has snapped so I need to remove this and replace it is this a straight forward job or is there anything that I need to know Hint's or tips?? any ideas or experiances will be much appreciated.

You do not say which E36 you have, is it a coupe, sedan, convertible, left or right drive? Is your part pictured here?

Sorry yeah its a saloon right hand drive it's the main part with the spindles on part number one the big one.
