If I remember correctly, zenon is low beam zenon with halogen bulb for high beam. bi-zenon is both high and low beam being zenon. Yes, the bi-zenon has a halogen bulb next to it, but it isn't used as a high beam, it's only used when you pull back on the turn signal for flashing.

Now, is that confusing or what? [idea]

vlad is absolutely correct. Repeating: bi-xenon uses the xenon bulb for hi and lo beams (the bulb is exposed more in hi-beam mode, exposed less in low-beam mode). The halogen lamp in a vehicle equipped with bi-xenons is used for DRLs (at a lowered intensity) and for hi-beam flashing. Xenon (not bi-xenon) uses the xenon bulb for low beams only and lights the halogen for DRLs (lower intensity), hi-beam mode and flashing.

Now that's not very confuding is it?

vlad is correct ...

i have bi-xenons and my car uses one light for the highs/lows .... it simply shifts the xenon bulb to a different angle when i flip the brights on

and bi-xenon is better

Bi-Xenon is better, obviously, because it's Xenon lighting for both your low-beam and high-beam. But when you have your headlights off and you "flash" someone with your high-beams, it uses the inner Halogen bulbs to flash, as it ruins the life of the Xenons to cycle the Xenons on and off like that.

I think Bi-Xenon idea is just stupid when you thnik what the second set of xenons could be used for. I think if they made B000K xenon fog-lights instead of far lights (which in total I have used like for 20 seconds), it would be far more useful.

Well, Xenon lights illuminate the road so well, they have rendered fog lights pretty much useless. But if you absolutely must have really kickass fog lights, you can purchase the Hell Micro DE Xenon Driving Lights from TireRack for $699. They are called "driving lights" and they are Xenons, but they are mounted at the bottom of the front of your car, just like fog lights. Here is a picture of them installed on a G35 Coupe (they are the yellow-colored lights at the bottom)...

Push, remember bi-xenons in a BMW does not mean a second set of xenons. It is the same xenon bulb used for low and high beams (controlled by changing the lamp exposure). Also about fogs, there has been much discussion on the functional use of halogen vs. xenon for visibility in fog. I have read that halogen is actually better than xenon in fog, something to do with light refraction/diffusion.

If you are going for pure looks and non-fog lighting, then 2 sets of xenons would be totally incredible for sure.

no body uses fog lights for their intended use anymore. I would rather have a seocnd xenon set to limunate the road better when driving in very dark conditions... and it is better than far lights since they do not blind.

Xenons blind people, fog lights don't do anything. And this is true, Halogen bulbs better illuminate the road during snowy or foggy conditions. This is because the more yellow-ish light reflects snow and fog much better. But personally, I would rather have two sets of Xenons. [:D]

The xenons were the hardest sale for me to the wife..... only because she has not driven a car with them yet... $700 is very reasonable. Brothers set in his Xpy was $1200 after market. That only uses a 2 headlight system... and his fog lamps were $300 to upgrade. Sure is nice now.

Really? I don't think I would ever get a car if it didn't have Xenon headlights. I know it sounds weird to hear that, but I do a lot of night-time driving, and we all know that night-time driving is significantly more difficult than day-time driving, in terms of what you can see. I feel that a good pair of Xenon headlights illuminate the road impressively well and are worth every penny for those who like to drive a lot at night. I am disappointed with my car's Xenon headlights and I have been searching for a cost-effective solution. I upgraded the fog lights and that helped a little bit, but they are nowhere near acceptable by my personal standards. Having a great set of Xenon headlights (projector xenons) really does make a difference in my opinion.
