XM or Sirius?

Hey All:

I have an '04 330xi with Nav, and apparently, I can't get BMW-blessed Sirius.

So in looking for ways to elegantly install Sirius I came accross a few options. One of them let's me pick between Sirius and XM Radio.

I was windering if there's any feedback on the boards on which I should pick.

It would appear that Sirius has better programming... but FAR fewer subscribers, and a questionable future.

Being an original DirecTV and TiVo guy, I'm all set to jump on th enext consumer-hyped bandwagon... I just want to pick the winner. :)

XM has great programming and a much larger customer base (about 3x as many)! It has many more contracts with auto manufacturers (GM being the largest) than does Sirius. The company also has more satellites.

Xm may have many more subscribers due to GM being a huge help to them...but you have to wonder why the higher end cars decided to go with sirius, i.e. BMW Mercedes, Audi...

Being the cynic that I am... I'd say becuase Sirius is willing to give the auto manufacturers a bigger cut of subscription and hardware revenues.

And XM may have some exclusivity with GM. :(

I have a 2004 330Ci with a nav system, and at first I couldn't get Sirius, but that's because they didn't yet have the software for it to work together with the nav system. BMW North America told me at the time it would be ready by spring, so I called a week ago, and it's ready! I'm getting it installed at my dealer Tuesday. They said it will be $300.

definitely sirius! 100% COMMERICIAL FREE!!! THAT's WHAT RADIO SHOULD BE!! Worth the money... XM SUCKS compared to SIRIUS!! I'm all about it. SO... less clients. Maybe its not looking to be as big as XM... look at Hyundai.. they'll never be as big as GM.. and they don't intend to. Thats just the way it is. Smaller company= more customer attention!! SIRIUS ALL THE WAY!!!
