Yearly checkup?

Asking the experts:

My car is now one year old. Does the dealer send a notice or something regarding a one year checkup or something?

Even GM sent us a note after the first year was done. Except for the cards asking me to sign up for another year of BMW Assist, they are pretty quiet.

The answer is 'NO'. The annual oil change is your right to get that for your car. The dealer will never send you a reminder/offering/notice, or whatever you want to call it. They will try to cut their loss as much as they can. Their moto is 'if you snooze, you loose'.

I always have to ask for annual oil change. The dealer will check your car history to make sure it has been more than a year since your last oil change.

Thanks. That's what I figured. And since my dealer is in the process of relocating to a huge new facility I don't really expect too much communication.

Anyhow, I already did an oil change after the first 5,000 miles, and she runs like a clock.

Time to hit the bar for the last Yankee/Sox game for '04. Should be wild.

i would smack my self if i waited over a year to change the oil and i would also do an oil change in between each 15000 mile service if you own the car but dont reset the counter
