hey guys and gals, the name is mike and im the proud owner of a gorgous 325I of wich is the absolute love of my life ( well next to my wife and son). i have been in to man's greatest invention; the automobile for several years now. i have the biggest nead for speed, and a hunger to mod. my current car. but i figured i would ask around before going in over my head. i would like to take this car and turn it in to a well rounded car; in a straight line, fast. hit the curves like a pro, and stop on a dime and give ya 9 cents back. any one have much experience in this vehicle? any and all info. would be great.

First off welcome to the board. Your car already is a "well rounded" car in a straight line and curves. You are able to improve on it however and that can be done with suspension upgrades, shocks and springs, like Dinan stage II or III setups. You can add a CAI system matched to a good intake manifold and a computer chip upgrade. These items can be purchased at places like Arizona Autohaus (see them in our MarketPlace section), BMP Design, Dinan, HMS Motorsports, and Bav Auto. Search any of those names and you will find links to their web sites. Enjoy.

thank you so much for the info. i have arleady talked to bmp and am currently working to get a superchrger installed. and i know that its easy to do your bpu stuff, but i was thinking more like motor swaps. i have a 2.5 I-6 with an auto tranny. i want a 5 or would love a 6 spd. but from what the guys at bmp said, ied be better off selling the car and getting an m3 or m5. and considering the wife took out a chevy pick up last night by backing in to it ( no damage done to the bmw besides a good scratch on the rear spoiler) i think it would be hard to sell. but i duno aobut the motor swaps. im more knowledgable with nissans, supras, and american FI V-8s. this is my first euro much less my first bmw i have every modded. and i must say, this thing is a totaly different beast than what im used to.

Motor swaps are expensive and add no value to the car in this case, I would not suggest it. BMP is correct, sell it and get an M3 or M5, otherwise just mod this one. Good luck!

yea, on another forum i just found out that the ZHP motor swap would be about$7K for the motor alone. but i guess when i become a fly boy, and i go to iraq, that kind of money shouldent be that big of a deal.

i know of guys comming back with $50K - $60K sitting in the bank. so i guess just hold out.

but if im going to do that, then i might as well go all out and get a bmw V-8, right?
