My driver's side door doesn't stay open. You know how most doors you can open and it ill prop open in 2 different stages? Mine opens but if I let go of the door it closes.

Is there a pin or something that I'm missing? This isn't going to kill me to have to deal with this, but I AM driving a BMW, all these ghetto issues should be fixed.

Any info would be appreciated. Not something I want to spend a lot of money to fix.

Doubt it can be fixed without replacing what sounds like worn door parts.

Give the dealer parts department a look, they might only give you a
minor beat down...

This part should be in the opening of the leading end of the door and should not require removal of any trim panels that I can think of? I could be wrong, but I did one on my 318 (91) and did not have to remove anything. Have some one check the Bentley manual for your car.

Door brake

Hi there,

Unfortunately, you do have to take off the door panel and vapour barrier to access the door brake. You'll need a few tools to do the job: T-20 screwdriver for the door panel, flathead screwdriver to pop the panel off, razor blade to remove front part of the vapour barrier, female torx M8 or 10(I think) for the door brake (on the frame), and something for the door side of the brake (I'm not sure what bolt it is).

I would suggest that you disconnect the battery after the panel is off, in case you want to disconnect the airbag, but i don't think you need to remove it.

Hope this helps a bit,
Tiger
