It is decision time for me. My 93 325is is due for some improvements; new paint, new stereo, possibly new seat covers, mainly cosmetic stuff. I've already replaced many things such as radiator, water pump, hoses, brakes, etc. It has 98k miles and runs like a dream.

Question: What are the improvements if I were to upgrade to a 98 328 or 328is? I've been finding 98's going for between 10-13k. If I make this jump, am I taking advantage of many performance or luxury's? I realize that there are many out there in great condition, that it would just take time to find the right one. What am I gaining besides just a newer car?

My dilemma is deciding to put the money into my car or just go newer.

6-9bhp and 14lbs of torque. nice looking painted side skirts and bumpers, traction control, and yes, a newer car. consider looking at an M3 as well. i wish i would've done the m3, but have been super super happy with my 328iS

I expect that you would get better fuel consumption.
You get steering wheel controls for cruise and audio systems.
No doubt there are lots more neat new gizmos.
On the convertible, you get a glass rear window with deicer instead of plastic with hot air blower.

You can get a 98 M3 Sedan in our area for $10900.00, or one in Spokane for $11700.00. Or a 98 M Roadster here in Seattle for $16999. or even a 98 M3 Coupe for $15k with only 92,000 miles. These guys claim to have a Dinan 3, mileage not listed for under $14k, might be worth looking at. And lastly there is a 328 here for under 9k.

By the way I am not affiliate with any of these cars, just being helpful[:p]
