As for the BMW and its 3 stars, what the hell would a pelvic fracture do? Will that kill you?
Lol, I don't think it'll do anything but it would be pretty embarrassing to suffer from a "pelvic fracture" after a car accident. [hihi]

Off topic, but I finally looked for the Mini vs. Ford F150 pics.

[rofl]
Great pictures. I would really rather be in a MINI than the previous-gen Ford F-150 (showed in the picture) in a 40mph fontal crash, but what happens if the F-150 and the MINI run into each other??? Which car is it safer to be in, the MINI with its perfect safety but miniature size, or the F-150 with the extra weight, height, and size but poor safety. I wonder what will happen???

Actually, a pelvic fracture is a very serious injury. There are two very large arteries (internal iliac arteries) that split from the main artery in the body (the aorta) that run right along the the anterior surface of the back of the pelvis. If you fracture a pelvis, it would be possible to rip or tear one or both of those arteries and bleed to death internally within a matter of minutes. If you are lucky enough to preserve the arteries, a fractured pelvis will nearly always require extensive surgery to repair, and you may never walk the same again. Not to mention that there are very complex bundles of nerves that run along the inside of the pelvis that innervate your legs - they could be damaged/crushed/torn in that kind of trauma as well.

one thing i'm curious about tho, is the weight of the F150. if it's way heavier than the mini, when they run into each other, mini will sustain more damage, due to weight transfer.

when crashing against a stationary wall, all the weight and momentum comes right back at the vehicle, so heavier cars will sustain heavier damange, unless built to withstand it.

in such situations, my vote will always be for the heavier car, even if i hate them. that said, i still wouldn't get a F150 the beer can, i'll find me a sturdier, heavier SUV. ain't that the "new" American way? btw, check this monstrosity out only in America...

I hope I never see one of those on the road. Those will surely kill hundreds of people; the people they run into. Imagine that beast smashing into a Z4.

sorry to almost hijack this one bryan.
anyway, it only get btw 6 to 10 mpg of diesel. i was thinking of a beast under the hood too, but then again, this one is a semi w/ a truck bed. so i guess that's not too out of line? dun know jack about semis..

here's a funny conan quote on it:
On Friday night, Conan O'Brien mentioned the Navistar CXT in his monalogue. People who had heard about it were booing. Conan suggested that a T-shirt that says "I've got a small penis" would be much cheaper than buying a CXT.
