3-series made in South Africa

Here is an example of how some dealers are trying to fool people in thinking the X5 is made in Germany using the WBA vin. Notice the 11th digit is a "L" for SC, USA.

Or the dealer is just plain clueless and thinks all BMWs are made in Germany because it's a german company.

Used auto dealers/salespeople have told me:
- the 3 series 6 cylinder is a V6, not an I6
- the 3 series is front wheel drive

They weren't trying to fool me, they were just clueless and admitted it after I questioned them on it.

Thanks, interesting though how Regensburg built such a crappy car, maybe it was one of their bad apples, got flagged for being one, and put on loaner service. Either that or those know-nothing mechanics screwed it up.
