and in the same breath, why do you think infiinity got burned on their residual? because their relibility wasn't as good as projected and retained it's value. you just unproved the point you made..

Did it ever occur to you that a car may not command a good resale price for reasons other than poor quality? The initial Q45s and J30s had poor resale value because they handled atrociously in the snow or even in the rain for that matter. Another reason is that Infiniti's marketing was done very poorly: they were the company that advertised their car without showing a picture of it. Lexus beat them out of the box and has maintained their lead. Maybe the G35 will help Infiniti to catch up.

Also, the quality of a brand is not a mystery. There are many publications like Consumer Reports for example, that report on vehicle quality. It's the experiences of tens of thousands of owners that determine a brand's quality, and not simply the anecdotal stories of our friends. Again, the quality of Infiniti models is typically at or near the top of the list of any national quality reports.

That cannot be true. Sitting down with a simple 4 function calculator will tell you there is absolutely no way you can lease for $469 per month without some $$$$

I posted the phone number of the company. Why not call them and find out?

If you are too shy to call, here's their url:

You should just buy it! You will never get that deal again!!!

1) Banks and leasing companies ARE NOT in the business of giving free money.

2) The total of payments is only $16,884.00

3) This would result in a residual of 55% or about $20,350.00

4) For this deal to be true, there would need to be no finance charges at all and a more aggressive residual than most lenders would give.

5) An aggressive residual combined with no interest earnings is a big risk for any financial institution to take. I guess it could be backed by a few thousand in manufacturers money and if this is true I would take the deal today if I were you.

Don't even think twice about this one; post some pics when you get it.

hey it is ultimately about the luv of good cars right?

adrean8j: You are right on target. Hell, I've owned four BMWs. The last one was an '02 M3 which I sold a couple of months ago for only six thousand less than I paid for it. So, yes I like BMWs, but I'm also interested in what other manufacturers have to offer.

You are absolutely right sly....I have owned three bmw's (2 E30's and my current E39) but I have also owned: Dodge Shadow ES(massively underrated by many people, but a car that small with a 3.0L V6 had much more potential than people thought), a Olds Cutlass Calais(truly a piece of shiesse or as Adam Sandler would say a Piece of shiit car!!), an Opel Kadett Gti, Seat Toledo GT...to name a few). Needless to say I love many different cars(yes even Honda Civics....so versatile) and my next car might not be a BMW(its a money issue....I am by no means rich, just on the edge of upper middle class) but you can bet you ass that, now that I make decent money, It will be a GOOD car.

adrean8j: There are some car owners who get upset if you mention the qualities of other manufacturers. You would think that by suggesting that there are other choices beyond BMW, that it would be the equivalent of making a critical remark against their mother.

In the last 12 years I have owned cars made by the following manufacturers: Infiniti, BMW, Porsche, and Audi. They all have their strong points and challenges. BMW makes fine performance cars, but let's face it, they are pricey. The same applies to Porsche, only more so. I'm presently driving a chipped Audi TT which is loads of fun, and is a good price compromise between BMW and some of the Japenese cars.

Bottom line is that I respect the work being done by Porsche, BMW, Audi, and Infiniti. Moreover, I'm eagerly looking forward to the new 400HP vette to be unveilled at the Detroit Auto show next week. If it's a performace car, I love it regardless of the manufacturer.

hmm a luxury car that is an atrocity in the rain or snow is not considered a poor quality? i fail to see how that's a justification. but it is somewhat amusing to read your rants.

Also, the quality of a brand is not a mystery. There are many publications like Consumer Reports for example, that report on vehicle quality. that line again disqualifies your cred on how great your past infinities were, since your story is a simple anecdotal stories of our friends right? [;)] along with what my views on infiniti relibilities are.

and again: since infiniti (oops late nite ^^;;)is a luxury brand, it def should be near the top of the quality reports don't you think?

look, i don't know why you are jumping all over over the place, making us sound like bmw badge whores.. altho yea, THIS IS A BMW FORUM!!, not edmunds or general car enthuist forum.. so we gotta be a bit skewed right? [;)]

if one car company made an awesome car at a low price, that would be the "it" car each company has pluses and shortcomings as you mentioned. but you it is hard refute the 3 series being the entry level luxury car king, (barring the cost issues) altho entry of the g35 did make the comparision easier, but only when you consider the price as one of the determining factors. and this is not me saying it, but paraphrasing many automotive magazine's shootouts and comparo tests.

in the end, it's your money, buy the car you want, try your best to get a good deal, but a "good deal" is in the mind of the buyer. and if you can a g35 for what you quoted, then jump on it, it's a great price, seems quite a YMMV, but hey, if you can net a g35 for that much then, swell for you, no need for me to refute that deal. but bragging and ranting does get tedious and tiresome to listen to tho, eh?

I worked at an Infiniti dealership and we never saw anyone trading in their BMW's for the G. Most people looking at the G wanted the 3 series but couldn't afford it. The name makes all the difference, I personally like the BMW a lot better because of its tradition and value!

Within the last year, Nissan has really picked up the pace. We can't judge Nissan and Infiniti right now because they're still kind of mixed with their old and new models. Car & Driver says that the G35s and overall the new Nissans and Infinitis are the only cars that can step to BMW (and the rest of the Germans).

Well, according to JD Powers' 2003 Initial Vehicle Quality study, Infiniti ranked 3rd while BMW ranked 8th. In their Vehicle Dependibility Study, Infiniti is ranked 2nd while BMW is ranked 13th (about 100 problems more than Infiniti). I think Infiniti is doing alright now in the quality department.
