Bimmer Gurus, I will be purchasing this fall one of these two vehicles. 330i with Performance or 330i with Sport & Premium. With your experience should I be swayed one way or another? Any pros or cons to these vehicles? Your thought are greatly appreciated!

Performance package is the performance bargain of the century. A perfect track car, needing only track wheels, and maybe brake pads. If I won the lottery tomorrow, I'd still be driving my ZHP.

The 330 with sport and premium packages is a nice balance... not too squishy, not to aggressively firm (the ride). Drive them both... you'll see what I'm talking about. I drove both before making my purchase and ultimately settled on the sports / premium packages.

No-brainer

There's nothing in the Premium pkg that's worth not getting the PP. Ditto Sport pkg. PP, plus leather (if you can't live without it and can live without $1500), hole-in-roof (ditto) - you're essentially ahead of the game for both Sport & Premium pkgs.

ZHP is a late-model-run bargain that combines the best BMW knows of the E46 with some spiffy extras from other nations' BMW equipage. It's a sleeper. Go for it...

Longshanks......................Ok. thanks for the help

Rubber Ducky I'm cinfused in your translation. The Performance Package is a better deal? I like the hole in the roof and the leather. Especially being able to get Imola Red. Nobody has this color, nobody. Why does it seem like you get more with the S&P Packages?

Wrong understanding. I argue for ZHP. If leather and hole-in-roof are necessary (I'd argue against and my car sitting on the pier in Germany has neither), that ups the price. But the car with PP will be a better one than w/o regardless.

Is old submarine philosophy: pay double and tip heavy - you'll always have a good time.

The performance package is not better than the Sport/Premium but more of just another choice.
225 vs. 235 hp... wow big difference.
18 vs 17... It sure might look better for some people but what about the performance on the road.
Suspension settings... You will probably be driving normally most of the time and racing ones in a while. I think you will like the sport package settings better.
Style? The sport/premium is a great balance between class and sport. The Performance looks pretty close to a... well... performance car.
I have a sport/premium... heck I did not even know I had the package til I got home. I just went for the looks, feel and features. When i found out about the performance way after I bought the car. I thought I made the wrong choice. but after reading all the facts, I'm happy I got my Sport/Premium package.

4k is a bit much for 10+HP....i dont think anyone can feel that difference...stiffer suspension, but how many people track their car...not to mention i like leather seats...I dont drive that fast on a daily basis that I need to stick to the seats. plus you get orange turn signals with the zhp, i like the clears. alot of marketing.

Although, I do like the short shifter...but that will cost me 300 bucks to add a UUC....moreover, I like 18 inch wheels, but NOT BMW wheels...I prefer to find my own aftermarket wheels, which will cost a pretty penny, too. I like the thicker steering wheel, but in leather! not to mention, you could also upgrade the suspension independantly for what the zhp upgrade costs... [driving2]

zhp because it's got nicer 18 inch rims, m3 esq front bumper which makes the car. nice tail lip. the cube trim blow away mertyl wood trim. oh and 10 more ponies..

if you can spring for it, why would you not get a zhp?

in answering salvo, 330i does not get clears in any trim. so either way it sucks.. the 10 poines do take off half a sec off the 60 times.. i dont' know what this maybe worth to ya, but thanks to the gearing and engine "upgrade", 0-60 times under 6 is pretty dang good no?

and yea 4 grand is a lot to spring for, but take off the sports package price, and now you have 2700 difference. shorter m shifter, nice 18 inch rims (abit pia to clean) front bumper that totally transforms the look of the car, shadow line trim looks much better than the chrome trim. nice thick m wheels (yea alca has questionable ware, but still you can prolly wrap leather once you replace the original set?)

and another huge thing for me was the inclusion of hte imola paint for the zhp package, which is something you can't put a price tag on. for me anyway v^^;;

you get all that plus you dun have to take time to replace the suspension, and tinker around w/ your car. i wish i were mroe into it, but i'm not, so zhp sure was good for me.

I have a Steptronic and 0-60 yesterday felt less than 5 seconds! Is that accurate? More likely not, but what it felt like was much more important than numbers. Oh yah! is half a second worth anything to me? You should pay me for just asking that question. Unless of course I get paid to garner half a second in 0-60.

Has anyone here done an actual 0-60 between a 330i sport and 330i performance?
If we put this 2 cars on the track side by side both sprint and road coarse who would take it?

There is a question that you need to ask your self. Do I want the "performance" race car ride or the more sporty comfy BMW ride. I love the ZHP ......for short rides. Incredible pull off the line. The ZHP is geared differently than the regular sport so it takes off faster...noticably. However the sport with premium is the way to go if you are going to spend an inordanent amount of time driving. I test drove both extensively and I would have bought the ZHP just because I drive alot on the autobahn and the extra 10 hp's make a difference. For long rides I would go with the Sport and premium packages. My back was hurting in the ZHP after 45 mins....
Just my .05 cents

Well, I actually think that the $3900 for the ZHP option is well worth it. But only you can decide if it's going to be right for you. As others have said, you're not just getting an extra 10 horses for that money; if that's all you're getting, it would be insane to pay that premium. Let's see what else you get for your money:

1. Alcantara-wrapped M steering wheel.
2. Alcantara headliner
3. Aluminum cube trim
4. M-tech bumpers and skirts
5. 18" wheels and tires
6. M shift knob with short shifter
7. Stiffer suspension

There might be one or two other things I'm missing--I don't own one. To me, the addition of some of these items make up for the cost, things like the larger wheels/tires, body kit and suspension components. Then there's stuff that you can't get with any other config. like the aluminum cube trim (if you like it, that is). What does Premium have that ZHP doesn't? I think it's just the myrtle wood trim and BMW Assist. Personally, I don't care for either.
