I drove an M3 yeeeeaaarrrsss ago so I can't truly compare the PP to the M3. However, I will say this - I can't justify the cost of an M3 now and the 330i PP really got my heart racing for quite a bit less.

The torque, power, handling completely blew my 323i sedan away while still being "affordable" (completely relative comment there). The alcantera steering wheel is very nice and I love the rims. That's why I bought my 330i PP. Plus, it is nice that there's not too many out there.

However, it is still my dream to one day have an M3......actually an M5! [;)]

There will not be a PP coupe, for the reasons you said.

They don't want competitions between the models and the lack of a 4door M3 was do directly to the M5. BMW didn't want two M sedans competeing so they gave us the PP (a little late).

Thats also why we will never see a PP coupe.

Just a smart way of promoting the M with out limiting the customers to an M

Just thought I'd share - got my production number for my '04 330i PP today!!!
