Sorry, I meant to ask about tethers for FORWARD facing infant seats. Bryan, I had similar Graco infant seats which only go in rear-facing, and you're right, you can't tether them. I now have 2 Britax Roundabouts, which the CHP installed for me rear-facing. They may be tethered or untethered, but when they tethered them to the base of the front car seats, the infant seats went from wobbly to rock-solid. That's what convinced me that the tethers are important when I turn the seats forward, although Britax insists the seats are safe untethered. But this requires a retrofit to install the tether hooks.

I believe the kit/install will be similar for the 528 as the 325 for the same year. The dealer told me that BMW doesn't have an actual kit, but assembles 12 parts for each tether install. The bolt cover/clip needs to match the auto interior; other pieces are common. Since I ordered over the phone, I didn't get part numbers, but I can pass these on when I pick up the "kits" next week.

Anyone have specific info on where to drill?

Thank you!!!

Bryan, what kind of stroller do you have? It looks like a double stroller that folds down to nothing. Very nice!!!
The stroller is a Kolcraft. One of the few we could find that folds down this small and leaves some trunk room. The main stroller we have that we use most of the time does not even come close to fitting in my trunk. It is the one in the photo attached. I am not sure it would even fit in a 5??? For the space, the Kolcraft works great! Some other brands of this type only fold in half, and we found them difficult to get in trunk.

Another newbie here... and soon to be mom (Mar 04). Guhan, have you decided yet on the car seat? I still trying to decide whether to get Britax or the Graco Snug ride LX5. Britax is kind of pricy...

Also, Bryan330i, where'd you buy the seat pads from?

Any more suggestions on infant car seats?

I decided on the Britax Marathon. From all of the reviews I have read, this seat is the "BMW of carseats". It's safety ratings are the best, and the features that it offers are also excellent. The things that really sold me was the fact that it fit in the car, and I was able to install it correctly, without instructions, the first time I tried it in the car. It felt VERY secure and the folks at Babies R Us inspected my install and said it was correct. That gave me a feeling of security and satisfaction over all of the other seats I tried in the car. By the way, Babies R Us is a great place to try out stuff--they willing assist you and school you on EVERYTHING.
