4.95 is for directions, weather, traffic - from your car using the Assist button. I am assuming you used the concierge 800 number for hotel info which there is no additional charge for.

Has anyone used the concearege(spelling?) service for ordering tickets, dinner reservations, etc. ?

Yes! The concierge service ROCKS! You don't even have to be in your car to use it.
When I had to pick family up at an unfamiliar airport for a funeral, I didn't have the airport's street address handy (nor the correct spelling)necessary to add it to my GPS. All I had to do was call the 800# and request the information.
Imagine, having someone sitting at their computer, at YOUR disposal. *That's* what the service is like.
Another time, I had to locate a nearby restaurant on a lonely stretch of highway, for my diabetic daughter's dinner meal. Got an excellant recommendation for a nearby coffee shop that will become a regular stop on that route.
Seriously, I can't think of a better travel companion (sorry honey!) than BMW assist.
Just last weekend I needed an extra ticket for 2nd City's 11 p.m. show. No problem!
But my FAVORITE feature is really a by-product of BMW Assist and *that is, having people being able to dial my car directly (by using the ID# included on the Blue Tooth card). Sure it's long distance ( mine starts with a New Jersey area code) but most cell plans don't charge extra for long distance calls.

Yes-I used the 800 number to get the hotel reservations. I just got in the mail a little flyer for the assist feature. The first call is free! YEE HA!!! If anything, I'll probably use it for directions if I'm not in my BMW (it has Navi), as traffic & weather are pretty uncontrollable. It sure beats having to roll down your window & ask some guy for directions while your wife has that 'you should have asked for directions 30 minutes ago..' look!

Anyway, I'm sure that the BMW assist can come in handy for some people-depends on your situation and/or lifestyle.

1. When you push the assist button, it sends a GPS signal at that point. If you're stranded or in a accident, obviously that's where you'll be. When I picked up my car and activated the button, I talked to the rep while driving home, but she had my location as at the dealer.

2. Got the letter for concierge service. 5 bucks a shot for traffic or whatever!! That's ridiculous. Won't ever use that. Just dial the free 800 number.
