Rory...I keep asking myself why I even bother responding to your questions
Up until model year 1999/2000, many of Mercedes' designs were "old school". The 2 C-Classes, the S500 and the SL500 were not part of Mercedes' new cost cutting, cheap materials, using E. European labor plan. Our Mercedes' were tank-like, over built, bank vault solid cars with amazing reliability and the sky high resale value.
Since I had such good luck with the older ones, once the new models came out, there was no reason not to continue with Mercedes. Starting with the 2001 SLK and 2001 S500 the reliability was dreadful, and I kept thinking the next .one would be better. After all 3 2003s were such a probelm, my hands were washed with Mercedes. Like I said earlier, there are countless polls, articles and evidence that MBZ is having major problems.
I am through with this post...this topic has totally worn itself out. BMWs rock, Mercedes suck. Auf Wiedersehen!!!
