Car Idles way too high.

equate, I agree with Rukus but would add check engine RPM with a separate tachometer. Don't trust the car tach to be accurate unless you've already checked it against another tach.

Today i did the Penny with a 1/4" hole in the centre trick for my idle control valve. Works great!!

Car still has relative high revs for cold starting and then goes down to 1400rpm and then down to about 1100 and then once warm sits at about 800 rpm.

It's perfect!

Oh it supposed to go high when its cold then go back to about 500? I was thinking about it and I didn't wanna fix it because it would help warm it up lol

Hmm,

OK, now do not tell everyone, it works.

After the EPA forces MTBE from the gasoline I will drill pennies and sell them for $1.00 and $1.00 s&h.

My retirement is looking up.

Next year more will need it.
