Voice mail when calling Service

My dealer advertises all the "Service awards" they have received....lol, but yet you get "voice mail" when you call for a service person ????

Can you use you BMW maintenance at a different BMW dealer ??

That may be a good idea, if of course the other area dealer is able to answer their service phone calls.

I would recommend if voice mail for the service dept would bother you...

Do NOT go to "Rasmussen BMW Portland", I am on the cusp of writing BMW NA, not that that would do any good..but that is how disappointed I am.

Here are the kickers:
1. During the time it was there they damaged my bumper near where the light was replaced. Multiple gouges all the way through to the rubber. Also broke off a corner of my right front bumper reflector. Don't know what they were doing up there. Careless BASTARDS. I have scheduled them to fix it in their body shop next Tuesday. Will take a couple of days. They will give me a loaner.

2. My DRLs no longer work. I think it is related to the LSZ reprogramming as I have read where the LSZ controls the lamps?

BTW the recall reprogramming of the LSZ was to fix the auto stop of the windows when they encounter an obstruction. Apparently that wasn't working.

This whole thing SUCKS EGGS. I have completely lost confidence and trust in my dealer service. Sheesh.

It is all being handled by the service manager now. I will be giving them the lowest possible rating when they call me for that info.
Last update I hope, all good news:
1. Got the car back this evening, dealer had the car 3 days, and the bumper looked like brand new. The dealer uses a very fine body shop (I think they own it) and the bumper is flawless. They also replaced the broken front bumper reflector.

2. DRLs are reprogrammed and back to normal.

3. They replaced the passenger door speaker and the annoying low freq rattle is gone. They said when they took it out they could tap it and hear it rattle outside the vehicle.

In summary, the dealer handled the whole thing very professionally and they couldn't have been nicer. Actually they have always been nice even in the face of customer (me) adversity.

I will admit they have won back my trust for now.

Man I love this car.

Go Marlins.

BMWRocks,

Good to hear it !! I am hoping I have a similiar positive story, I did actually get a 325 loaner..so off to a good start !! should get car back anytime.

Pleasently surprised how peppy the 325 is...not bad at all, for 184 HP it feels much stronger. Do miss mine though.[:(]

Fixed !!!

O.K. back in business,

My dealer gave me the red-carpet treatment & I found out the phone problem is due to expansion etc...

IHKA was reprogrammed, got a nice 325 loaner & Dealer discovered a rattle from a rear shock mount which was apparently needing a better rubber groument.

Wow !, happy to have her back & feeling better about my dealer too !

Whew...

Thanks to you all that posted this problem, it helped me immensly !

[driving] on the road again !

If you guys/gals get an unknown rattle, from what seems to be coming from the trunk, have them check your rear shock mounts apparently there is a rubber part that is a fix.

Thanks again !

Does the rattle noticeably come from the trunk, because sometimes I hear a rattle (sounds like it may be more inside my car), I just always assumed it was my top [confused]

I thought it was the top as well, and it could have been anywhere behind me, but apparently there is a rubber piece that quiets the rear shock mounts ?

I would have never found this one without the dealer help, the car is otherwise very quiet.

It could also be the sub-woofer box........my noise from the back......there was even a SI on the 2003's.......
Is yours mounted on the Pass through door ?, the little hatch where you could put ski's etc... ??

If so mine seems very tight and solid (so far).
