ok. how about this question. has anyone had/have a nice car and DIDN'T get women?
Yup, right here. I consider my car a nice car and I don't get any girls with it. Not that I try to get girls with my car, but I was rather surprised when the guy from the article said that he didn't even have to ask for phone numbers when he got his Boxster S.

id consider an 88 325 a nice car but sadly no passengers...... but with my last car it was even worse, everyone would look at me in disgust because it was letting out an enormous black cloud all the time.

Given that I don't "flaunt my car," every time anybody (male or female) sees what I'm driving, they tell me to my face in a very serious way that they hate me... Is there something wrong with me? [B)] Had it happen today in fact.

Co-worker: Okay, okay, how old are you again? Sixteen?
Me: Seventeen.
Co-worker: And you drive that?!
Me: Yes... But I got a really good deal so it's not as bad.
Co-worker: That doesn't make me hate you any less. My first car was a piece of crap.
Me: I'm sorry

etc, etc

There is a stigma, even a hatred at times when you mention you happen to have a BMW/Porsche/Audi/Mercedes...that alone does suck & isnt fair at all. Sigh !!!

Not many people agree or understand with being 20 and on my 2nd BMW. I do get a lot jealous comments when I tell people I drive a BMW... moreso from older people.

you all are funny.......while some of us are close to using canes to help us walk because we are so old,,,,,,,,we did have some great American cars........i.e. the Mustangs, Corvettes, Cobras, TransAm............and believe me most of these listed would blow the doors off of these newfound BMW's..........and when we didnt want American in the ice age, we got to enjoy the Datsun 240Z.............[rofl] [rofl] [rofl]

oh man, i get that ALL the time. i just try to be humble about it. but i guess now that i think of i do get a lot of eyes from the ladies, mostly when they are hanging with some dude with an eclipse or some wack car like that, then look at me rollin up in my classy yet fast bimmer. i always give the dudes they are with the [confused] confused look, like "what are you driving dude?" haha.

Yeah I do get more attentions from ladies while I'm cruising down the street. But I being shy, never actually hit on them. I'm wondering. has anyone tried to pickup women by offering ride, ask direction and one thing leads to another etc...?

In the end, it really does matter what you drive, to a certain point. I mean, I don't think what you drive will hurt you, but it can always help you. For example, if I drove a shitty car and a girl asked me what car I drive, and I told her the model of some shitty car, she would be like, "Oh well it's just a car...just to get from point A to point B." But if I drove a nice car like a BMW, she would be like, "Ooooh, I love BMW's !!" Basically, what I'm saying is that if you drive a not-so-nice car, it shouldn't affect the type of person you are. But if you do drive a nice car, it certainly helps. [;)]
