Cheap Seats

When I took it to the dealership they immediately cautioned me that it may not be fixable because doing anything to the headrest posts impacts the safety restraint system. I've taken this all the way to the service center manager and had a NEW seat put in just last week. Guess what? This one rattles too -- same problem. Do you think the vibration material you're talking about will still work? I'm hoping some ofther folks can confirm this as a problem too (or not). Thanks.

My driver's seat looks worn at 52K. Once again I expected better quality from BMW. If it did not drive like hell on wheels would have pitched it a long time ago. Make you think long and hard before getting another one don't it?

Damn, that's not good. My seats look great and I wear jeans almost every day that I don't wear shorts. And sad to say but loose fit 38's.

My seat rattles too. I took it in, but for a miscommunication, they didn't fix it that time. I was supposed to bring it in again for them to do it but I never got around to it. When they were checking it out, the service tech did mention they normally put foam on certain parts of the seat. My Service Advisor just wanted to install a whole new seat. I guess this stuff has happened before to them although not many people on the internet forums have reported anything like it.

oh yeah that is bad. it looks like ur whole seats are going to be cracking soon.
Like i said before, you shoudl have just buoght sheep skin seat covers to protect the leather. They are comfortable too

I noticed my leather seats wearing on the side bolsters too (20k miles). My family has had Hondas, Acuras and Volvos. All were beautiful durable leather. I see Lexus leather and i cry with envy. I am a little surprised a $36k car already has leather problems.....
