How do I find out about the motronic/Jetronic or beltdriven/chaindriven? Is there a difference between 318i and 318is?

BigDaddy, do you have pics of your [daughter's] car? (dumb question, of course you do. But do you have them online?) [and we'll leave pictures of your daughter for a different discussion altogether] ;-)

So one says the Conforti chip doesn't really impact everyday driving, unless you want some wicked acceleration, and another says it's that AND results in a smoother running engine as well as yielding a slight increase in gas mileage. I would say that those are two different answers, really. But on top of being a PITA to do, and expensive, you have to buy the "pay-through-the-nose" grade fuel. Seems like it's trading evils. Maybe the chip won't be on the docket.

Yes. look in the Gallery in the e30 section. (The car that is...) And on the chip, I would also agree that the engine seems to run smoother, and yes my gas mileage did improve (when I keep my foot off floor). I have heard more times than not that the Jim C hip is the way to go with the e30.
