Adam, or Deutsch100 did get the competition package. i guess bunch o CP owners are bitching about the aftermarket BBS wheels, so he opted for the traditional m3 rims. if you look closely at his blue.. yup, you can only get that with one package.

Actually it (Interlagos Blue color) comes standard on the M w/competition package, but you can special order the color on just about any BMW for a $2000 fee. You can special order any paint BMW makes on just about any car for the additional price....

This means your Z8,X5 4.8, and new M3 are all leases or have car payments remaining??? That's gotta cost a bundle. Oh and why didn't you get the competition package? Congrats on the new M3

For the last 10 years or so we lease cars, because as ya'll know we like to trade and get new ones. Purchasing is great if you are planning on keeping the car for 5-10 years. Since we know that every 2 years or so, we are going to trade, it is financially wrong to have high car payments for a car that we have no intention on keeping.

I did get the Competition Pkg., I just got the M 19 wheels instead of the BBS wheels. I love the Comp. Pkg.

Move to a college town like Athens and you could probably buy an entire city block for the prices you guys are talking!! But then you'd have to get a job teaching or bartending...they're the only shows in town. LOL.

yup, i could second you on that one. my parents picked up a 2004 x5 w/ imola red. to this date, that is the only imola red x5 w/ the face lift i saw around town. and some people actually think its a 4.8i (too bad my parents are too lazy to change tires w/ season, so we got stuck w/ 18inchers.. which is a dead give away..) still the sexiest suv on the road imo. it was a $2500 extra.

deal w/ the I Blue and competition package is the fact that the color just came out, and if there's anyone out there picking up an m3 w/ that color, they'd be an idiot not to shell out another $1.5, $2 grand to upgrade to the competition package. cuz you know 19s themselves would make up for the difference. but thanks for pointing that out to me oh yea, you do miss out on the radio controls w/ the CP.. stupid if you ask me, but who needs a radio when you got the smile stuck to your face on the track all day long, w/ the sound track coming from your hood and tires?

Teaching for the day almost sounds fun, bartending at night can't be that bad... but then when do you sleep? You can also add another option if prices are that low, retiring. I'm sure some people like the quiet southern country life... Come to think of it if you had 100k roughly 10 years ago to spend on anything you desired the most worthy investment would have been purchasing real estate in inflated markets, within the last 5yrs the home prices have doubled in metro NY. A house going for <250k 4-5yrs ago goes for well over 500k now, I always find it interesting how real estate brokers call high end cars too expensive for their budgets. If you're purchasing a 1 million dollar condo why not buy something less "upscale/luxurious" and drop the 200k savings into a Ferrari, but that wouldn't be "practical" now would it?
