Headlight "oddity" in E46 series

I really tried to notice the adaptive headlights the other day and succeeded; I actually have several very curvy streets around my house. When I parked at work just by turning the wheel each way, I could definitely see the headlights turning on the wall. Then I read Mr E's note about "auto" mode. AHA!!! I was using auto mode that day, but usually I don't because the headlights would come on whenever I left home or whenever I got home (in the garage) and whenever I drove into the indoor garage at work; I figure that's just extral wear on the xenons, so I usually use manual mode. Now I know; another "overlooked" item during delivery.
Thanks!! [:D]

This is correct. The primary reason why I purchased a 2003 instead of waiting a month for the 2004 was I didn't like the updated look as much as the original. Still don't.
I'm with Codex, I don't think the face lifts were all the compelling. The original classic front healights and hoods more match with the rest of the car. I like the new led taillights though, they make sense and aren't just a change for change sake, an actual performance improvement.

As with the adaptive lights, once you have them and then drive another car that doesn't, you'll notice the difference. It's really a neat feature to show off until every other company gets them.

Yes, I really like the LED taillights too. I'm sorta upset I don't have them, but that was just one item. I plan on retrofitting them later. I know I won't get the adaptive part, but just the fact that they're LED should provide me some benefit over the regular halogen bulb. I notice a difference in how fast the rear lights light up on my family's E320 (which has LED brakelights) versus other E classes that have regular taillights.
