I will say this.. If the pics Bryan330i shows us are of a messed up looking steering wheel. BMW NA will be getting a NASTY call from me first thing in the morning.

I flat out asked them about the wear, email via Owners circle, and they said they dig rigorous testing and it showed no signs of wear.

I wont be happy.

It is hard to get good pictures of this. I tried a couple of close ups and they were too washed out. I also tried a couple with a traditional 35mm and I will see how those turn out tomorrow. The left side of the wheel is the worst by far.

Anyone have problems with the alcantara seats? So far none for me, but the wear on Bryan's steering wheel is freaking me out.
I am sure that I have been too harsh on the alcantara.

There are probably factors that contribute to the steering wheel wearing more than other areas of the car. Still, it sucks that it is happening so soon.

I really love my Alcantara seats. [thumb]
Great grip, cool in summer and warm for winter. Only time will tell for wear.
Thankfully the steering wheel is bicolor leather.

EmenGeeRoxx, How did you get it with the leather steering wheel?

That a feature of the ZHP package? That is only a canadian thing, right?

I think a call to BMW might be in order...

Thanks for the pics guys.

Damn, that looks like a old raw hide chew toy[fake] . I would have had to get that replaced. It looks like your hands may sweat alot while driving[:D] Mine do too, I actually wore out a leather steering wheel in my VW Jetta in 8 months.

Rat,

Yeah I bought my car in the Toronto area. We didn't have the Performance Pack last year, but we had something called M-Sport Pack. Similar to ZHP without the engine upgrade. I don't know anyone here who got the alcantara wheel? Anyway hoping that my seats last and probably will since I am a skinny bastard and my ribs barely touch the bolsters.

Here's another pic

Not so good

I test drove and ordered my 330i ZHP yesterday at Vista BMW in South Florida, the test vehicle steering wheel was really messed up. It was bad. The sales person said that BMW is going to warranty them. I loved how the car drove...

Nice ride Punchy.
Not sure about the seats, but the dash/steering wheel two-tone looks sweet.
