Nashville is the answer to your insurance problems.

I pay $120 per month but I live in Oakland, which is a pretty high insurance rate area. I have no tickets and I do get a discount for being member of a medical society. Make sure you are getting all the discounts that you qualify for including passive anti theft device ... Also make sure the distance to your work (if you use the car to go to work) is accurate. I used to work for GEICO in the service and claims department. Any small changes to your policy could save you 20-$50 per month....That does add up.

I pay about 2600.00 year, up about 600.00 over last year for no good reason for 300/500. This is for 2 vehicles in one of the higher rate areas. Someone with bad credit and some points would easily pay double my rate.

Funny thing is I only pay 275.00 year for full coverage motorcycle insurance.

clean record $250/month State Farm full coverage... that will drop to $150 when I turn 25 this year. I live in Harris County (Houston) which has the most expensive insurance rates in the country (that was a few years ago, not sure if it still is).

Not sure if your state has 'county mutual' insurance. Which, in Texas, the insurance companies will offer a badass monthly rate but as soon as you get a ticket, they'll jack up your rate to some phenominal amount... might be worth looking into.

Full coverage; 1 speeding ticket two years ago; $250 deductible = $251 per month premium (with Progressive Insurance). I think mine's high because I live in the heart of San Francisco... I also drive 45 miles each way to work every day. And... oh... I'm old too (mid-30's).

I pay about $126 a month I think, with a clean record. But I'm youngish. $384 with that horrible of a record doesn't sound too bad. You're kinda limited to the companies that will take you. The big ones wouldn't touch you with a 1000 foot pole with that record. You're likely gonna have to wait a bit until some of those tickets drop off.

Great scott!

Mid 30's and you're paying 251 a month? Sheesh... I swear if I ever break 150 a month for a car again I'll go homicidal, and i'm only 26. I payed 200-300 a month long enough. These insurance rates for decent to good drivers are getting asinine.

No wonder more and more people are starting to break and law and not keep insurance until it's time for plate renewal (if your state does that of course).

Here's to hoping you can find a better carrier. [cheers]

It all depends, on where you live, your driving record, claims experience, your age, and your credit rating, and how long you have been in your job/ field, and how long you have lived in one place.
