American Family Insurance

$125/month

early 30's

Phoenix, AZ

accident in Feb added about $15/month

no other citations on record

recent divorce/loss of multiple vehicle discount added about $15/month

house also insured through Am Fam

will get multiple vehicle discount back in a few months when I get wrecked Rover back on the road and get liability insurance on it for $30/month.

the biggest killer for insurance rates is SPEEDING! Location a big factor too (i.e. San Fran)

to add to what jnx said - it is very dependent on circumstance - state city and even zip code can make a huge difference. And also deductable and coverage amounts - and its worth it to pay extra (particualrly as you get older and have more assets to lose etc) - for higher coverages..when i lived in Cali (15-20 years ago) the minimum coverages were a joke...even then I went for several years with no insurance (I don't recommend that...) - until i was 25 - before then no one would insure me - and I had a clean record and drove a junker...still - as I lived in Hollywood - rates were sky high - particularly because I was forced into the State coverage. They wants $4K/yr for minimum liability only (in early mid 1980s)...and that was by far more then my car and probably all my possesions were worth (OK excluding my stereo system perhaps!)...as soon as i turned 25 I got insurance (3 years without... [80?] - and it cost me $2500 - for liability alone! [:(] - now - with 4 cars (and married with kids & living in suburbia) - i pay something like $150/month....record isn't clean...but not too awfly bad... [cheers]

$50.61 per month. 36, married with a kid, $250 deductible, Dallas, TX, multi car and a homeowner, and no tickets or accidents.

You should adjust your dductible to get a lower cost rate. Mine was $100 for both collision and comp, but I just recently raised it to $250. Amounted to a $20 difference in payment per month.

That is sickening.......I just switched insurance companies yesterday from Liberty Mutual (had them for 15 years) to AllState........Liberty Mutual went up to 1800.00 per year and AllState gave me $1500.00 a year.......this is all with $500.00 deductible.......no claims in 27 years of driving, no tickets in three years and own a home....jeepers, Dallas is as bad as Houston for traffic..........hmmmmmmm [???1]

It's actually closer to Denton, but nobody knows where that is. I live about 30 minutes north of DFW. I've also been with State Farm for as along as I can remember.

Funny thing is that I had a $4000 hail damage claim on my truck last year and my 6 month rate on that is still only $231.65. That's an '01 SuperCrew. I thought it would go up significantly, but it really didn't

At the time, I had the $100 deductible, which made it really nice. I was at a friends house when the storm hit. Some other friends of ours had both of thier cars there and both were heavily damaged. They had $500 deductibles.
