Leather isn't too great in cold winters either. Unless you have heated seats leather is pretty bad when it's cold, it freezes your ass off like you are sitting on a cold rock. One good thing I see in leather is that you can get really really wet and not worry about the water getting past the leather.

I just got my new 2003 BMW 325I with leatherette and I will tell you that you cannot feel the difference and supposedly it wears better than leather. Go to the dealership and see for yourself... good luck[burnout]

I agree. You really can't tell the difference. I just order an 04 325cic. I wish I can order my sports package without leather. I took away the leather seat and order the new Xenon light.

not a tough decision for me

Lets see it's $1400 cheaper, it wears longer, it requires minimal upkeep, and most of the passengers think that it's real leather...hey it's your dough if you get jollies from having real leather go for it...for me I'll take leatherette every time!

My car is nearly four years old with 80K on the clock and I am ever so happy I bought leatherette...I actually agonized over the decision prior to ordering, but have rejoiced over the fact that I didn't spend extra money on something that I feel offers no value...but again I am one of those misguided folks who also only goes with BMW sched maintenance...80K and have never used a drop of oil!
