Looking For A Nice Deep Sound For My 330i

I am a little confused, I see the flap in the exhuast pipe, but it is always open at idle, I saw the exhuast pipe and the small hose attached, I disconnected it but It didn't make a difference. What is the hose for, can u just disconnect it, I am confused asking for help.

I found this webiste, I guess my exhaust flap is stuck in the open position. So the vacume hose makes no difference on or off, so I put it back on the exhaust.

Then you definitely need an aftermarket exhaust, since even when stuck open it's still too quiet for you.

Sounds to me like it would be open until you start the engine. Once you start the engine, the vacuum would close it.
